Biography

From a young age, Meg’s journey with Montessori education began when she first stepped into the classroom at a Montessori School in Oakville at just three years old. This early exposure ignited a lifelong passion for working with children, leading her to become a trained Early Childhood Montessori teacher. With an impressive 38-year career in Montessori education, Meg’s dedication has shaped the lives of countless young learners.

Meg’s professional path has been both diverse and impactful. After several years teaching in Early Childhood settings, she transitioned to the toddler program at Toronto Montessori School, where she also earned her IT Diploma. Her career further expanded into administrative roles, mentoring adult learners, and most recently, serving as the Head of School at Bannockburn School.

Her commitment to Montessori education is deeply personal, as she has witnessed firsthand the transformative effects of the philosophy on her own children. As a parent of three UEL Montessori graduates, Meg has seen how the Montessori method fosters curiosity and engagement, qualities she values immensely.

Outside of her professional life, Meg is an avid reader, often juggling several books at once. She finds joy in spending time at her cottage with family and friends and cherishes moments spent outdoors in nature.

Looking to the future, Meg is dreams about expanding access to Montessori education. She is inspired by the innovative public Montessori programs emerging in the US that provide opportunities for children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Her vision is to see similar advancements that make Montessori education available to all children.
