Workshop Description:
Toilet learning is a crucial milestone in a toddler’s development, laying the foundation for their
growing independence and self-confidence. This workshop dives deep into the Montessori
approach to toilet learning, focusing on recognizing readiness signs, creating a prepared
environment, and using positive, intentional language to guide the process. Gain practical
strategies for guiding toddlers through this process with patience, consistency, and respect for
their natural development.

Biography

Since 2017, Shadow has guided the Young Children’s Community at Odyssey Montessori School in Toronto as a Directress, following two years as a Montessori Teacher’s Assistant. She holds an Infant Toddler Diploma from Toronto Montessori Institute, B.A. in Childhood Education from Ryerson University and an ECE diploma from George Brown College.

Shadow’s passion for education began at a young age when she discovered her love for guiding and sharing knowledge with others. This passion deepened upon learning about Maria Montessori’s philosophy, which emphasizes respect for each child’s individuality and development. Dr. Montessori’s approach resonated with Shadow, reinforcing her belief that education should be tailored to a child’s unique needs and that keen observation is essential in helping them reach their full potential.
