Course Overview

“Understanding and Handling Emotions” is a professional development course which aims to equip educators to support emotional regulation as normal development, and to aid the child to understand and express their emotions in socially acceptable ways. Children are showing unregulated behaviour and this causes teacher concern and even frustration. They are struggling with self -regulation and relationships. Understanding where these issues originate and how to best respond to them can help everyone.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to support teachers regarding the following:

  • Understanding Emotions, How to Act, What is your Role as the Adult and Guide

Introduction to Montessori Partners

Montessori Partners is a group of Montessori educated consultants, who wish to enrich and support the Montessori community in Canada. Montessori Partners consists of Regina Lulka (M.Ed Adult Education, AMI [6-12]), Blanca Sanchez (AMI [0-3, 3-6]), and Tracy Grisdale (M.Ed Curriculum Development, AMI [3-6, 6-12], Teacher Coaching Certificate).  Their approach is grounded in Montessori pedagogy and current research. Montessori Partners draw from their vast experiences as educators, school leaders, consultants and teacher educators.
