MACTE is the premier, internationally recognized, standard-setting and accrediting body for Montessori teacher education.  An accredited program is one that meets the MACTE standards of excellence, demonstrates financial stability, offers a comprehensive curriculum, hires competent and credentialed faculty, and has an array of services that respond to student’s needs.

Montessori Teachers College is committed to the effective preparation of Montessori teachers. Its mission is to recognize, assure, and promote the highest quality of adult preparation through its system of accreditation for the ultimate purpose of advancing Montessori student learning.

The Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), founded in 1995, is dedicated to improving academic diploma and certificate programs for Montessori professional educators who teach and lead in schools from the Infant and Toddler, Early Childhood ( Casa), Adult learners completing a MACTE-accredited program are assured of the broadest possible opportunity for acceptance of their Montessori credentials throughout Canada and the world.
