M.Ed in Educational Leadership - Montessori Educator Option

MTC graduates from our MACTE-accredited Montessori Diploma Programs may be eligible for advanced standing credits to fast-track through this Masters of Education program!

Program Features

The Montessori educator option of the MEd is focused on Montessori trained teachers and features:

  • Exclusive Montessori cohort and Montessori community building
  • Inclusive environment open to learners at all stages in their career
  • Part-time, distance-based course work
  • Develop an empirical research or applied project based thesis

Program Courses

  • Foundations of Educational LeadershipSummer 2024 - Two-week online course with 7 consecutive days of online synchronous work (early July), followed by one week of asynchronous work (mid July)
  • Research in EducationFall 2024 - Online synchronous and asynchronous course exploring research methods with a focus on data collection or applied project development, research ethics applications and literature review in support of thesis work
  • Field InquirySpring 2025 - Independent work with the support of a thesis supervisor focusing on data collection or applied project design and development
  • Major ProjectSummer 2025 - Continued independent work with thesis supervisor support of data analysis or project analysis and final thesis document completion
  • Degree Conferral or Additional Course CompletionFall 2025 - If maximum advanced standing credits for Montessori teacher training awarded, no additional course work/credits required. Graduation Ceremony would be in June 2026

Program Start: July 2024

Applications open October 1, 2023 and close March 31, 2024 with ongoing application review and admission until the program is full (max. size = 25)
