Clanmore Montessori School is a well-established learning environment located near Toronto in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, operating from September to June annually, with two week breaks in December and March.
Housed in a beautifully restored historic farmhouse with custom designed additions, Clanmore offers authentic Montessori programming from toddler through to adolescence in a cooperative work environment.
We are looking for someone who works effectively in a team setting and is passionate about student-centered education. The ideal candidate will have a talent for guiding children and fostering independence while providing support to the lead teacher in the classroom.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Experience working with children ages three to six
- Effective communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Growth mindset and cooperative attitude
- A love of the outdoors in all seasons
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment indoors and outdoors to meet the needs of the children
- Interest in child development in the preschool years
- Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Valid Standard First Aid certificate from a WSIB recognized provider
- Montessori training, OCT or RECE an asset
- Ability to speak basic French an asset
- Currently able to legally work in Canada Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in providing an authentic Montessori experience in a team setting while maintaining a beautiful classroom environment
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Assist children with social problem solving skills
