Hamilton Montessori School, which is located in Stoney Creek (accessible and close to all major highway routes) is looking to assemble a team of Montessori Teacher’s to be a part of our growing Montessori school community (www.hamiltonmontessorischool.ca). HMS offers an excellent working environment, supported by a highly dedicated team of administrators. Individual(s) must provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate student’s growth, independence and exploration. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively use sound teaching methods, have effective classroom management skills, be a dedicated professional who wants to provide students with an exemplary education and able to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.

Duties of Applicant:
Maintain a clean, safe and positive prepared Montessori Elementary classroom environment for students.
Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the school.
Be loving, patient, reliable, responsible, mature, hard-working, adaptable, flexible and organized.
Possess positive working attitude.
Possess good interpersonal skills, able to establish positive rapport with all stakeholders.
Be genuinely interested in working with children.
Creating Lower Elementary Montessori lesson plans that follow the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of the student.
Independently produce formative and summative student assessments.
Observational skills required.
Engage in school events and provide supervision and support during student outings.
Attending seminars and professional workshops as and when required.
Adhering to school policies and guidelines at all times.
Planning and implementing a Lower Elementary Montessori Program.
Excellent leadership, classroom, time management and organizational skills.
Fostering relationships with families by maintaining communication and actively involving them in the learning process.
Maintain open and regular communication with parents as required, and conduct parent interviews at the request of the parents as required.
Collaborating effectively as part of a team with Co-workers, Families, Community Partners, and students.
Prioritizing student’s safety by recognizing and accommodating their diverse backgrounds and needs, while promoting equal opportunities for all.
Organizing and participating in school events and activities, contributing to the School Community and spirit.
Applicant Requirements:
- Lower Elementary Montessori Diploma (MACTE, AMI), or B.Ed / B.A / M.A in a related discipline is required.
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C (or willing to obtain before starting)
- Current Vulnerable Screening Police Record Check (or willing to obtain before starting)
- Willing to take accredited Montessori Elementary credentials, if required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- A lifelong learner who can be a good role model for students.
Salary: $30-$32 per hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday plus open houses and school events
