Course Overview

This course focuses on the administration and day-to-day operation of a Montessori school. It is a course designed for those who are ready or nearly ready to open their Montessori school and looking for the extra guidance needed to face the challenges ahead. Throughout the course, leaders will need to take active steps towards finalizing their opening and preparing a solid foundation and infrastructure (systems and processes) in operating their school. They will learn of the specific administrative tasks and challenges ahead by experienced Montessori owners, and be guided on how to overcome them.

By the end of this course, leaders should be ready to open the doors of a new Montessori school and operate it successfully.

This course covers a wide range of topics which will prepare you for your management role, including:

  • Ministry Requirements and Safety Regulations
  • Developing and Creating School Policies and Procedures
  • Meeting Montessori Standards (Accreditation)
  • Building and Maintaining School Culture
  • Connecting with Parents and Stakeholders

Course Details

This course, Montessori School Management, is an online, 40 hour course. Lectures are held weekly for two hours. It takes place over a nine week period with eight weekly modules and a review at the mid-point of the program.

Applicants must:

be 18 years of age or older

possess a MACTE or AMI-accredited diploma

have completed Montessori School Establishment OR possess a comprehensive Montessori school business plan to be approved by the college prior to acceptance into this course
