We are looking for an  experienced, passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team as a  Co-Lead Montessori Teacher.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RECE who enjoys working directly with  children while contributing to a positive, collaborative school culture. Depending on the  successful candidate’s qualifications and the operational needs of the school, this role may also  include temporary leadership responsibilities supporting the day-to-day operation of the  centre.

About the Role  

As a Co-Lead Montessori Teacher, you will work collaboratively with our team to create a calm,  respectful, and engaging learning environment where children develop independence,  confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.  

This role may support either our Toddler or Casa classroom, depending on the needs of the  school. Temporary leadership responsibilities may also be assigned to support the ongoing  operation of the centre.  

Key Responsibilities  

 Co-lead one of our Montessori classrooms  

 Support the daily rhythm and operation of the classroom  

 Prepare and maintain a beautiful, organized Montessori environment   Foster independence, confidence, and respect in every child  

 Observe and respond to each child’s individual needs  

 Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues  

 Collaborate across both Toddler and Casa programs as needed  

 Follow all licensing, health and safety, and Oakleigh Montessori policies   Support temporary leadership responsibilities as assigned  

Qualifications  

Required  

 Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early  Childhood Educators  

 Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry of  Education licensing requirements  

 Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills   Strong written and verbal English communication skills  

 Ability to work collaboratively within a small school environment  

 Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C  

 Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check  

 Valid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)   Up-to-date immunization record (or proof of exemption in accordance with  Ontario requirements)

Preferred  

 Previous experience in a licensed child care supervisory or leadership role   Montessori certification (AMI, MACTE, MTC, MCI, or equivalent)  

 Experience working in a Montessori classroom  

 Experience mentoring and supporting educators  

Compensation & Future Benefits  

 Starting wage: $25.00 per hour 

 Full-time, year-round position  

 Monday to Friday with consistent daytime hours
