Tanglewood School is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Montessori trained TODDLER/RECE Teacher. This position is ideal for someone who is a seasoned teacher and is looking to develop their teaching experience in a Montessori setting.

To be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Toddler Montessori Diploma (AMI/MACTE) or Early Childhood Education Diploma
• Minimum one year experience working in a Montessori setting is preferred
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening and Criminal Check
• Up to date Immunizations Records
• Knowledge of Ontario’s Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
• Display strong leadership and communication skills (oral and written)
• Be able to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment
• Professional, mature, warm, patient and nurturing
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications
• Strong computer skills (must be comfortable with Microsoft Office)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To plan and implement an effective Montessori program for children within a warm, safe and nurturing learning environment
• To supervise the children at all times while allowing them to be independent
• Responsible for maintaining a prepared environment
• Prepare monthly classroom planning and newsletter
• Responsible for diaper changing and/or assisting with toileting
• To communicate with parents on a daily basis in an open and supportive manner
• To maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned
