Kawartha Montessori School (KMS) is the only CCMA accredited Montessori school within the beautiful Kawartha area. Our campus is located on 10 acres directly beside Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park and we have been in operation for over 40 years. We have a dynamic team of dedicated staff, an engaged parent community, and a committed volunteer Board of Directors. Your Role at KMS:

We wish to recruit a trained, passionate, and committed Casa Teacher to fill a full-time role beginning August 26, 2024. As a key member of our school, you will collaborate with experienced KMS teachers to deliver a vibrant educational program grounded in Casa Montessori pedagogy. You will nurture the overall well-being of students, ages 2.5 to 6 years. You will teach, guide, and assess students and maintain excellent communication with both the staff team and parents. You will help to design and implement programming that meets the standards of our Montessori accreditation, in combination with our child care licensing guidelines. You will be expected to participate in all aspects of school life. Any candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, be a dedicated lifelong learner, and have a demonstrated ability to connect positively with children and their families. You should be adept at working in a fast paced, complex school environment and possess excellent skills in organization, decision-making, and oral and written communication.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Montessori training at the Casa level and/or Early Childhood Education diploma
    (required)
  • Classroom teaching experience (asset)
  • Knowledge of learning differences and exceptionalities
  • Passion and experience with outdoor education (asset)
  • Must be able to provide a criminal reference check with vulnerable sector
    screening prior to start date
  • Hold a current First Aid certification with Child/Infant CPR
