Position summary:
- Enthusiasm and love for children
- Effective classroom management skills
- Provide children with a “prepared & enhanced environment”. This includes making materials to support the individual needs of the students.
- Instruct children in each area of the classroom: giving presentations and lessons in all curriculum areas.
- Encourage individual work time to promote independence as well as group work to promote socialization.
- Enable children to be as independent as possible.
- Always maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Follow and implement health and safety standards and protocols.
- Conduct parent/teacher interviews.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents, and co-teachers.
- Assist with planning and implementation of school special activities and celebrations.
- Prepare program documentation.
- Maintain & enhance knowledge, skills and abilities through on-going education and professional development activities.
- Responsible for assisting with toilet independence learning while demonstrating respect for a child.
- Responsible for classroom cleanliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: MACTE-accredited Montessori certification
Mandatory Requirements: Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification; Updated Immunization & Current TB Screening; Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector).
Required experience: Preferred 3 years teaching experience.
