Course Overview

The Training of Trainers’ Certificate Course Level 2 includes assisting an experienced Montessori lecturer by assessing and evaluating written assignments, presentations, projects, etc. based on a set of defined criteria.

Through observational experiences, the candidate lecturer will learn to observe both through the prism of a lecturer and through the eyes of an adult learner. 

During these observational hours, the candidate lecturer observes and assists the lecturer in the module subject. This includes assisting with course work, which includes marking of assignments, observations, essays, and previewing albums, and other activities as required. Additional independent study, research and discussions will occur with the mentor lecturer. 

The role of the candidate lecturer in Level 2 is to observe and discuss experiences with their mentor lecturer, and record their impressions in their reflective journal. The candidate lecturer will also be viewing and making notes on two specific modules of the Montessori curriculum.

Course Details

The candidate lecturer will record their observations and impressions under the following headings. 

  1. Communication with adult learners
  2. Goals, Objectives and Learning Outcomes
  3. Instructional Materials
  4. Assessment Techniques
  5. Evaluation Techniques
  6. Personal Learning

Course Duration: 50 hours approximately, which includes observations, assignments, tasks, discussions, and guidance.

  • to become a professional, Montessori lecturer who understands the principles of adult education and models the Montessori principles.
  • to develop Montessori Trainers who will support and continue the work of Dr. Montessori
  • to share with humility your knowledge and experiences passing the light of Montessori to others.

Course Aims and Objectives

Within the course aims and objectives you will:

  • to understand and gain experience in observing and assisting senior lecturers in different modules and avenue of the Montessori curriculum
  • observing and recording adult learners in their different styles of learning from the senior lecturer
  • reflecting on observations and developing insightful discussions with the senior lecturer
  • being directed and supported by a senior lecturer

Admission Process:

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have

A Montessori diploma from a MACTE accredited College or from AMI 

A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a Montessori environment (classroom)

A university degree or equivalent

successfully completed the Training of Trainers’ Course Level 1 (minimum grade requirement of 75%)
