“A teacher should reflect often upon a child’s predicament” – Dr. Maria Montessori
The Training of Trainers’ Certificate Course Level 2 includes assisting an experienced Montessori lecturer by assessing and evaluating written assignments, presentations, projects, etc. based on a set of defined criteria.
Through observational experiences, the candidate lecturer will learn to observe both through the prism of a lecturer and through the eyes of an adult learner.
During these observational hours, the candidate lecturer observes and assists the lecturer in the module subject. This includes assisting with course work, which includes marking of assignments, observations, essays, and previewing albums, and other activities as required. Additional independent study, research and discussions will occur with the mentor lecturer.
The role of the candidate lecturer in Level 2 is to observe and discuss experiences with their mentor lecturer, and record their impressions in their reflective journal. The candidate lecturer will also be viewing and making notes on two specific modules of the Montessori curriculum.
The candidate lecturer will record their observations and impressions under the following headings.
Course Duration: 50 hours approximately, which includes observations, assignments, tasks, discussions, and guidance.
