Angus Valley Montessori Schools is going to serve the growing demand for superior quality preschool education. We are looking for a passionate and caring Montessori Teacher to join our fast-growing team. This person must be very well organized, self-motivated, patient, proactive, compassionate towards children, and must be eager to teach and help students learn.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling all Montessori teaching duties including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring that all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial and municipal governments are being met at all times
- Working collaboratively with teachers to plan, develop and implement daily Montessori activities that support and promote the intellectual, emotional, and physical development of children
- Child’s Daily Schedule should include the following hands-on activities:
- Practical Life Exercises
- Sensorial / Art Activities
- Cultural Activities
- Language and Enrichment of Vocabulary
- Mathematical and Conceptual Development
- Music and Movement
- Gross motor indoors and outdoors
- Creating both individualize and Class program plans on a weekly basis
- Leading children in activities by reading stories, teaching songs, and craft materials
- Teachers in observing, monitoring and assessing the pupils progress while discussing progress or concerns related to children with the co-teacher
- Maintaining a healthy physical, emotional and social environment conducive to learning
- Assisting teachers in supervising the students at all program times. Ensuring the safety and well- being of children at all times
- Maintaining and completing developmental checklists and term reports as required
- Encouraging parental involvement through regular communications
- Maintaining your class shelves and class boards on weekly and monthly bases
- Providing support to develop age-appropriate programming for children enrolled in after or before school care programs
- Attending staff meetings, professional development activities, open houses, and parent-teacher interviews as required
- Other duties as required
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
- Must be an accredited Montessori Teacher (MACTE Certified)
- Must have a minimum of one year experience as a Montessori Teacher
- Must have a valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Excellent organization and multitasking skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Proficient in Computer skills
